Magnesium Protein Omlette

This super easy and quick snacky meal is high protein due the eggs, and also high in magnesium due to the Chard. This is an ideal snack for those who are wanting to increase on both nutrients. Its is also guten free.

This combination supports:

  • muscle function
  • mineral intake (magnesium, potassium)
  • stable energy and satiety

This dish is suitable on its own as a quick snack or dressed up as a meal with potatoes or garlic bread on the side. You can substitute the chard for herbs or for spinach if you like, but we have chosen chard specifically for the magnesium content.

This is the basic recipe and you can add whatever you want to this recipe.

  1. Wash, Chop the Chard

    Wash, then chop the chard and place it in a saucepan with a bit of water. It does not need a lot of water to melt down, 30 ml is enough. Once reduced and cooked squeeze the additional water out and squeeze the chard dry with a fork. 

  1. Omlette

    Beat the eggs in a bowl and set aside, add butter in the pan and let it melt, then add the eggs. Let the eggs cook until they form a pancake in the pan. Once dry on top add the cooked chard and then fold the pancake over.
